portraits: zoe + andreas
I have such a soft spot in my heart for these two, both of whom I have known since they were only a few days old. They are such lovely and loving children, and while their mom promises that they have had their "moments," I have never once seen a meltdown. It is a delight to watch them grow up, and if they look familiar to you, it's because { tinyprints.com } LOVES them, and is using many of { their photos } for their fall campaign. Happy fall!

if edward cullen cheated on bella
When I arrived at Hodgin Valley Farm to meet my friend Susan Odom (an awesome doula, btw) and photograph her daughter, Allison, I was not at all prepared to encounter such a Hollywood beauty. Allison is still in high school, and most definitely has a big career ahead of her as a singer and actress. Don't you think Bella should watch her back with Edward? Casting directors take note:

combray session: richmond
Yes, I completely made up the name of these new portrait sessions, but hear me out: Combray is the fictictious town in France where Marcel Proust set his semi-autobiographical { "Remembrance of Things Past," } his ode to memory and childhood. I have been looking for a way to communicate what I want my portraits to evoke, and somehow "what-it-feels-like-to-be-a-child-in-all-its-melancholy-and-sweetness sessions" just doesn't have the right snap to it. You see, rather than try to photography any child of any age wherever there's a window or some trees, I have decided to start shooting slightly older kids at a very specific location and time of day. It's my own interpretation of "Remembrance of Things Past." Hence, "Combray Sessions." Like I said, just totally made it up.
Richmond's mom and dad were kind enough to let me photograph him recently, having no idea what I meant by Combray session, and yet trusted me anyway, for which I am very grateful! I think you'll agree that he is an amazing, funny, sassy little guy and I hope you see a little bit of Combray in him.
I'm going to be announcing a fun promo related to these sessions in a few days, btw, so stay tuned.
