11.24.10  |  Weddings
an eco-chic wedding: jen + craig
Here is some real eye-candy for you. The delightful Jen and Craig, of both { ShutterPROS } and their { engagement session }, tied the knot in Greensboro recently.

Planned to perfection by { Leigh Pearce }, there were lovely apothecary bottles filled with local flowers and { Etsy-made table cards } with some of Jen's favorite Southern-isms. From tree-free invitations to hosting at the nations' premiere LEED-certified hotel, they combined charm, style and conscience in a beautiful way. The couple decided to do a "first look" before the ceremony, which gave us perfect, golden sunset light for their oh-so-romantic first glimpse of one another. Special thanks to my co-shooter, { Traci Arney }, whose lovely work is highlighted below. Enjoy!

Ceremony and Reception: { The Proximity Hotel }
Event Planning and Design: { Leigh Pearce Weddings }
Dress: { Amsale }
Flowers: The Farmer's Wife
Cake: { Delicious }
Table cards: { Etsy }
Bridesmaids' Dresses: { J. Crew }

11.04.10  |  Weddings
a jane austen wedding: lauren + scotty
"In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you."
-- Mr. Darcy, Pride and Prejudice

Any Jane Austen fans out there? Well, Lauren is as plucky and smart and funny as any of Ms. Austen's many heroines, and Scotty is her equal in every way. She is an English teacher, and he is a talented actor (and now lawyer). The day they met 8 years ago as students at Wake Forest, they both knew they were meant to be together forever. They waited to tie the knot until he finished law school this year, and their wedding at the church where her faster is a pastor was attended by the entire congregation, most of whom have known Lauren since she was a little girl. Here are a few highlights from her bridal portrait session and their lovely summer wedding:
