DANICA, NEW MOM, GREAT PHOTOG
I just received this adorable photo in my email box from Danica K., whose gorgeous wedding we shot at the Biltmore two years ago. In addition to nurturing her marriage and having a baby last month, she has also been building an amazing photography business in Illinois. I love this photo of her baby boy Roaran wrapped up in a sweet blanket that we sent him. Thanks for sharing, Danica! He's perfect, and we miss you!

ELIZABETH + WAYNE
OK, Elizabeth, I hope you haven't left for your honeymoon yet, because I know you were stalking the blog waiting for some pics from Saturday!

Here's another great wedding with lovely people (btw, "bridezilla" is a cruel stereotype and I have not encountered a single one in more than 200 weddings). Elizabeth was so warm and calm, and you can see her radiant spirit in these photos. She and her family have recently relocated from Long Island, so lots of guests came to Charlotte from NY for the weekend. I would say "wallflower" is not a word that any of these folks are familiar with -- the dancefloor was packed from the minute the lights went down!

P.S. We just received a wonderful thank you note from them, which means the world to us. Thank YOU both for letting us be part of your day!!!

Here are some favorites:

The wedding day was also the 28th wedding anniversary of Elizabeth's parents, who had their own special dance:

The lovely flowers and decor were by by Crawford & Company

I love the eager girl in the crowd who's bound and determined to catch that bouquet (she did!).

And now, to see how many of you actually read my comments, I'm having a little contest. The first ten people who send me an email with the name of the song playing during this shot below (based on what they are doing) will get a free 8x10 print of your choice from any event or portrait session. (You don't have to have been a guest at this particular wedding.) Here's the catch: you must also post a comment somewhere on the blog -- come on, you lurkers, speak up! :)

And Mike Beyers, this one's for you (saving the jumping shot for the big gallery):

adding on
Serenity in our house = 326 additional square feet. Our 1926 bungalow is the perfect size for two adults and one baby, and we have outgrown it by one child, two dogs, two strollers, and 14 boxes of beloved books stored in the attic. The backhoe will be here at 8:30 on Tuesday morning to start on the foundation-- hurray! Sorry for the random post, but I'm really excited about it.

Friday Night Lights
We were feeling ambitious on Friday night a few weeks ago and went to a Greensboro Grasshoppers game. We figured we'd be able to stay for about ten minutes before one or both babies had a tantrum/meltdown. To our surprise, they both had a blast -- Lila socialized with other babies and cruised along the railings while Joaquin noticed that there was actually something happening on the field:

I would have had a perfect night, except that a nice woman with whom I was chatting thought I was pregnant (I'm not!). I guess it's time to bust out the Spanx.

PARKER AND HARRISON, PART DEUX
More babies! Shannon and Bob's little boys, who were very good-natured about the lady sticking a camera in their faces and making ridiculous noises. Of course, my two favorites show the split second change from happy baby to not-so-happy baby. :)

Sometimes having a little brother ain't so bad after all:
