A Baby Wedding: Rhiannon & Brent
Get ready for a smile -- remember the teeny-tiny and hilarious { Baby Albert Michael }? His parents got married recently at the { Proximity } and he was the star, as well as heart and soul of the whole day. It was such a loving, sweet experience from start to finish -- it was as though Albert's super chill mood just made us all walk around on a cloud of peace and happiness. Yes, I admit it, we were high on Baby.

(Btw, there are two Rhiannons on this blog, and this Rhiannon is not the same one who was recently featured with Baby Aoife, just FYI.)

Behold the smooth and perfect skin of a naked baby's back (my favorite shot from this series is one I won't share here out of deference to more prim readers -- the rings were balanced perfectly on each flawless cheek!)

Albert was the ring-bearer, and processed to the ceremony in a shiny red wagon, to the utter delight of the whole room:

See what I mean? He's awesome!

Harrison at 18 months
This little guy is practically my nephew, since his mom and I go way back -- he's just as beautiful as his parents, whose wedding I got to photograph in Las Vegas a few years ago. Their family has recently moved back to NC, so I got to meet Harrison for the first time.

He wasn't so sure about me at first....

...but then he warmed up!

Flashes of Hope
I got up early this past Tuesday and drove to Randleman with Gregg Phipps (actually, he drove -- thanks, Greg!) so we could take photos of the campers at { Victory Junction }.

We were part of a team of photographers from { Flashes of Hope }, a wonderful non-profit that I learned about last winter and have been hoping to volunteer for since. Most of their work has been in children's hospitals around the country but they have recently branched out into the { Hole in the Wall Gang }camps, of which Victory Junction is a member. FOH sets up photo shoots of the kids and then sends the prints and hi-res files back to the families as a gift.

It was an amazing experience, and the only obstacle we encountered that day was that the kids were running around so much that it was hard to get them to stop long enough for a portrait! It's no fun to be the one to say, "Hi, I know you're in the middle of a kickball game with your buddies, but can you come sit down for five minutes with some random lady?" They were great sports about it, though.

Many thanks to Lisa, Kim, Nancy, Brent, Lisette, Bev, and Callie who worked so hard behind the scenes to make it all so easy and fun!

Trying not to laugh....

...and not succeeding!

Engaged: Emily & Jason
Emily and Jason suggested doing their engagement shoot at { The Second Empire } in Raleigh, a stunning historic site known as the { Dodd-Hinsdale House } that is now a top-notch restaurant. Not only is it a beautiful space, it's also where Jason proposed to Emily during a romantic dinner. (The shot below on the right was taken at the very table where they got engaged.)

These two are so wonderful together, and I can hardly wait for their autumn wedding!
